The PristineBlue system consists of four distinct products, each with a very important task. Understanding each product's purpose may help you make sense of the procedures you will follow throughout the guide on this site.
In addition to the four main water treatment products, we also supply two useful products for water analysis.
PristineBlue®
This cornerstone of the system is applied for control of algae and bacteria. PristineBlue®'s active ingredient, copper ions, are bonded with a unique carrier which allows us to introduce enough copper in the water to control both bacteria and algae.
Unlike any other copper compound the copper ions in PristineBlue stays suspended in the water constantly to prevent the growth of algae and bacteria.
PristineBlue® is environmentally friendly, EPA registered and even certified for addition to drinking water by NSF International! After an initial dose, you'll measure the level of PristineBlue® every two weeks and "top it off" with more PristineBlue®.
PristinePower®
PristinePower is an oxidiser or "shock". It dissolves quickly and removes odours and organic materials, contaminants, and body oils that otherwise build up and cause cloudy or dull water. Weekly or biweekly shocking is recommended for pools; in spas we recommend a dose of PristinePower after each use of the tub. Unlike chlorine shocks, it is safe for swimmers to enter the pool within 15 minutes!
PristineClean®
Maintain sparkling clean surfaces in your pool by inhibiting scale formation and stains caused by metals in the water. It prevents the metal and mineral particles that enter your pool through hoses, jewelry, and metal equipment from bonding to pool walls and other surfaces. PristineClean is added every two weeks along with PristineBlue. PristineClean may also used to remove existing metal stains in pools.
PristineCheck®
PristineCheck is a water prep that gets the pool or spa ready for the introduction of PristineBlue. It takes excess calcium from the water and deposits it into the filter. PristineCheck is applied in pools when using PristineBlue for the first time and every year at spring opening. In spas, it should be used whenever the spa is refilled . If your source water is high in calcium, we recommend an application of PristineCheck whenever you add make-up water to the pool.
Pristine Mini Test Kit®
The Pristine Mini Test Kit measures the PristineBlue level in your water so you can calculate your "top off" dose. Accurate liquid reagents minimize the guesswork.
PristineBlue Express Lab®
The secret to PristineBlue's system is simple, the unit dose vials (UDVs) completely eliminate all the reagent additions, titrations, and time consuming cleanup procedures. Each foil sealed UDV contains the precise amount of reagent needed to run the test. With all the necessary reagents in disposable vials, there's no time wasted in preparation.
Kit includes Colourmeter, 100 UDV's per test factor, acid/base dropper bottles, lab pipette, two 42 vial racks, wall poster, storage container, RS-232 cable and photo-diagrammed instruction card (Computer not included).
